1. Cave Town

My idea was to build a large village in a safe location and where better than in a sealed underground vault. So here’s my first big survival build Cave Town.

Constuction

The village is mostly constructed from wood, bone blocks and hay bales the central building is a mod grinder. The grinder spawning platform is situated 27 blocks up directly under my starting base, The grinder, happily, is the only place that hostile mobs can appear and had managed to produce just enough stacks of bones for the build.

A stone pick axe?

I excavated the old fashioned way with just basic stone tools. Wish I’d known about iron farms.

Light vents to the surface

Light vents, because I thought villagers needed a bit of natural light. My plan was to build a large castle (next post) on top of the village so spent quite a lot of time thinking about how to place all six of the vents.

A few of the village buildings

Large sleeping quarters

Town hall
Library

Close

Most of the village is made up of smaller shops and lanes they are an interesting part of the whole. In the future I may be extending the village into to a small underground city. Although 70 villagers is already more than is enough.

Next up- 2. The Sandstone Castle
